New Facility

Santa Cruz Humane Society and Santa Cruz County Animal Control are collaborating to develop a new facility for our county’s lost, abandoned, and homeless animals.

Our shelter is located in a building that’s nearly 100 years old. The cost of expansion and maintenance has become unsustainable for the long term. SCHS is actively seeking a parcel of land on which to build a new facility and the project will be a joint venture between SCHS and Santa Cruz County Animal Control.

Plans call for a combined campus on which both organizations will deliver care, adoption, licensing, education, and animal welfare services for the animals and residents of Santa Cruz County. For more information or to make a donation, call (520) 287-5654.
